When my dad used to go overseas we would all get these letters, written in the inside of the envelope. The envelope had been opened, a letter written inside, and then sealed and mailed. It always felt like there was nothing inside, that just an envelope had been mailed to me, empty and lonely. But when you followed the instructions to open the envelope in a certain way, revealed inside on the envelope, written in my fathers blue or black fountain pen, was a letter. This Flickr pool has all the insides of those airmail envelopes that I fell in love with as a child, so reminiscent of my father, and the letters he wrote to us.
